Answers
1)  Q Are Calvin Christian Schools accredited?
A

Yes, our middle and high schools are accredited by Christian Schools International (CSI).  CSI's rigorous accreditation process evaluates every aspect of our schools.  Our middle school and high school are also accredited by the North Central Association (NCA). Each year CSI and NCA review our school improvement plans and progress toward goals.

2)  Q What makes Calvin Christian Schools unique?
A

Our core commitments clearly characterize our schools and our uniqueness surrounds those values:

· Integration of faith and learning

· Excellence in education

· Partnership with parents

· Respect for students as God's diverse image-bearers

· Christian community

· Service to God and others

Also, Calvin Christian schools are comparatively small.  That enables us to give students individual attention and to encourage involvement.  At our high school, for example, over 60 percent of our students are involved in our music program--2 bands, orchestra, or choir.  Similarly, over 60 percent of the students participate in one or more sports.  Our small size not only promotes involvement, it fosters a sense of Christian community.  We're small enough to assure that no students get lost in the crowd, yet large enough to offer a variety of classes and extra-curricular activities.

3)  Q Are Calvin Christian Schools associated with a certain denomination?
A
Our students come from over 30 Christian denominations and over 100 individual churches. Our board consists of parents from different denominations.
4)  Q Do Calvin Christian Schools offer special programs for students with unique learning styles and gifts?
A

We offer educational support services for students with unique learning styles in partnership with the Christian Learning Center. On-site staff in all our buildings design and implement programs to enhance learning.

The high school curriculum includes honors and Advanced Placement courses.

Our commitment is to enable all of God's children, regardless of intellectual or physical ability, to use their God-given gifts to the fullest extent possible.

5)  Q Are all Calvin Christian teachers Christian?
A

Absolutely!  Each one is a committed Christian and an active member of a Christian church.  Our Expectations for Teachers specifies that they have an active spiritual life and that they encourage and nurture the spiritual development of students.

6)  Q Are Calvin Christian teachers state-certified?
A

Yes, all of our teachers are certified by the State of Michigan . Many hold advanced degrees.

7)  Q Do Calvin Christian Schools prepare students well for college?
A

Local colleges tell us that our students are among the best prepared for college.  Over 90 percent of our graduates go on to college.

8)  Q Does Calvin Christian offer bus transportation?
A

Students in the Grandville Public School District may use Grandville Public School transportation at no cost. Wyoming Public Schools also aids in busing middle and high school students. Call for specific busing boundaries.
