"If God so precisely and carefully and lovingly and amazingly constructed a mind-boggling habitat for his creatures, then it would be natural for him to want to explore it, to measure it, to investigate it, to be inspired by it-and ultimately, and most importantly, to find him through it."

Lee Strobel (Case for the Creator)

"The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands."
Psalm 19:1

I love teaching science. The main reason I love teaching science is that God reveals Himself through his creation to us. The intricacies of God's design are evident through out all branches of science. In this class students will learn about God through studying living things. Students will see how living things have been designed and how living things interact with each other. My hope is that grow in a desire to learn more about God through science and develop a desire to care for the gifts God has given us in his creation.

7th Grade Life Science RULES!!!

"Science is an effort to understand the creation.  Biblical religion involves our relation to the Creator.  Since we can learn about the Creator from his creation, religion can learn from science" -Paul H Carr

Extra Credit:

Students can do a science experiment for extra credit at any time during a marking period. The experiment they do MUST be approved by me prior to them doing it. They must follow the inquiry cycle and students must document the experiment as it is done. They can only do one a marking period for a maximum of 4 for the school year. Check my "useful links" for websites with ideas.

Students could also propose to due a research paper on a science topic that is related to what we cover in class.  Examples could be diseases related to systems we cover, various animals, plants, etc.  The topic MUST be approved by me in advance and it must be something they have NOT researched before.

Another opportunity for extra credit is to find current science news in the newspaper and write a summary about the article. The article and summary must be displayed in a neat and creative way.
